Morgan Ice creams
Previously a Lorry Driver, It's hard to say how I ended up serving ice cream. I have always wanted a business of my own. A good reason to work hard and build something not just for myself but my family too. I started my list of crazy ideas and even tried and tested a few, My partner got to the point of 'oh no! What's he doing now'
I had worked with weddings before way back and remembered how enjoyable it was. As ideas came and went, some started merging together. I always remember buying an ice cream from a tricycle once at Bradgate Park. It looked amazing and the two men serving looked as though they were having the time of their lives.
Time to put my next crazy idea forward, 'Morgan Ice creams'
The set up
Finding the tricycle was the easy part, deciding on the logo on the other hand took way too long. As for the name, that was in my head pretty much the same time as the idea so that part was all plain sailing.
We set out to find the best ice cream we could, and with three children as our taste test team we came across Criminisi. Anyone who has had one of our ice creams will confirm, they are by far the best.
I decorated the tricycle myself, Abbi and I easily agreed on the rustic style and all the decorative touches.
Our first fair
With our tricycle ready, and the freezer stocked, we had our first Wedding fair booked. Sketchley Grange, hosted by 'Love wedding shows', very helpful and host amazing fairs in some gorgeous locations.
We were taken back with how popular our tricycle was. Everyone loved it and we took numerous bookings for as far ahead as 2026. I think at one point our queue was taking over that section of the room, I suppose free ice cream did have its part to play.
From then on we have just been growing and growing, in popularity and bookings. We love what we do and we are proud of how far we have come.
and as for the kids, their still my number 1 taste test team!
